About Naomi


Naomi MG Smith is a PR and communications professional, currently working at Westco Communications as an Account Executive.


She graduated with a first-class degree in Business Management from Coventry University, receiving the Course Tutors Prize for her overall academic achievement. During university Naomi was heavily involved with the Students’ Union and was elected as Business & Law Faculty Chair in 2015, representing 5000 undergraduate and postgraduate students at some of the highest levels within the university. Naomi sat on the Executive Committee, Student Council, NUS Black Students’ Steering Committee and served on the board of Coventry University Students’ Union.

PR & Communications

Naomi started her graduate career at Goldman Sachs, as an analyst and HR Business Partner to Finance and Services divisions across EMEA. In 2017, Naomi pursued a career in PR & communications and has worked in a number of sectors including automotive, financial services, third sector, and local government.

Naomi has led communications for campaigns on Brexit, the Black Attainment Gap in Higher Education, funding in Further Education, mental health in the workplace and more. She has experience in crisis communications, digital communications, community engagement, media relations and internal communications.

Outside of work, Naomi has produced digital campaigns aimed at young people focused on explaining the role of local authorities and the importance of voting in the local elections.

CIPR Member

Naomi is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and is actively involved with the Institute. She is Vice Chair of the newly formed Knowledge Panel, and is a member of the Local Public Services Committee, which represents communications professionals working directly in or supporting local public services.

Naomi has completed two cycles of continuous professional development (CPD) and is an Accredited PR Practitioner. 

Soji & First 100 Member – Jolt London

Naomi is a Soji (student) on the Not An MBA (NAMBA) programme by Jolt. The syllabus includes: Data, Finance, Management & Leadership, Marketing, Sales & Customer Service, Personal Skills & Self Development and Product.

Naomi is one of the first 100 members to join the programme in London. She started in May 2019 and is due to complete it in 2021. To date Naomi has achieved 2500/3500 required points and has completed 96 hours of study.
